Large Oco Geode with Thin Agate Shell

Large Oco Geode with Thin Agate Shell

This larger specimen illustrates nicely how the geodes are scaled up. The agate band is basically the same thickness as any other specimen, but here it has blown up to make a very fragile looking cave as think as an oyster shell. Inside there is a quite complex mix of crystal of varying sizes. It's the sort of rock that should be turned over in the hand and marveled at - but i hope the photo conjures up something of it.
