Josephine Thundereggs
An interesting and frustrating location. These are usually tiny eggs and extremely brittle - often incomplete. Opal filling is common - both common opal in various colours and transparent opal. They can be very colourful and quite complex for their size. However, their brittle nature leaves them extremely flawed and prone to damage. The specimens below were not cut (the saw would probably make them disintegrate!), they were simply ground in half, with a lot of consolidation and repair as I went to try and keep them together. Even so, there were a lot of issues with bits falling out!
The claim, now belonging to Jason Hinkle, is named after the original owner Josephine Lindsey.
