Skull Springs / Harper Red Bed Thundereggs

These seem to have a distinct kinship with the Buchanans above, sharing a lot of characteristics. And this makes a certain sense in that the two beds are not that far apart. However, the Skull Springs stones are much 'tougher' and darker - with a wonderfully red and meaty looking matrix. Other names for this site in the past are Dry Creek, Bridge Creek and Juntura Beds.

Located in Eastern Oregon near the town of Harper
